What do we mean when we talk about Faith Formation?
Faith Formation is a life-long process that starts with our Baptism and continues throughout our lives.
When parents have their children baptized into the Catholic faith, they ask the Holy Spirit to infuse their children with the gifts and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. They commit to raising their children in the faith as the Catholic Church teaches.
Parents are the first and primary educators of the faith.
Parents form their family as a domestic church, a church in the home where family life is centered around Christ. God is honored, his law is respected, prayer is a normal event, and families grow in faith and holiness together.
Here at St. Agatha Parish Faith Formation, our mission is to support parents and their children on their faith journey.
In Grades 1 - 5, Parents as the primary educators of the faith, are provided
materials, support, and opportunities for in-person family gatherings to help in the building of their domestic church.
In Grades 6-7, the children begin to develop and explore their place in the Church.
In Grades 8 and up, children learn how to integrate their faith into their daily lives as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
