St Agatha Young Church Ministry - Appalachia Service Project
|
 |
Remembering Kate Perkins Antoniazzi
All of our service projects this summer are dedicated in memory of Kate Perkins Antoniazzi. Kate passed away unexpectedly in May of 2009 at the age of 29. Kate was a dedicated member of our parish and especially our Young Church Ministry. She participated as both a chaperone and individual contributor in many service projects in her dedication to St. Agatha, including chaperoning a trip to Nazareth Farm. Kate quietly dedicated her time and talents to serving the needs of others and especially our Young Church Ministry. She starred in and directed the Passion Play many times. She was a kind and caring person who was so easy‐going and very passionate about her faith. Her presence is missed and we remember her in a special way this summer as we support our teens to minister to the needs of residents of the Appalachia region of the United States. |

| Erin Carberry, Gabrielle Cremone, Richie Harrington, Chris Jordan, and John McLaughlin along with their adult chaperones, Linda Baumeister, Rob Cremone, Kevin McLaughlin, and Mark Storey experienced the joy and satisfaction of knowing they touched the lives of two families in Mingo County, West Virginia, simply by spending time getting to know them and helping them do some much needed home repairs. |
|
Here are just a few of the things our kids and other volunteers have done:
~ Make one family's home warmer, safer and drier
~ Repair roofs, install insulation, fix floors, shore up foundations
~ Worship, bond, and pull together as a group
~ Lift an Appalachian family's spirits and remind them that God's love knows no boundaries
