Traffic Advisory for opening of School

Patience is a Virtue

This year, we will all have to have patience driving in and out of the school yard for the next three weeks! While the “Principal’s Note” still accurately details how drivers should enter and exit the school yard, getting in and out of the yard onto Adams Street will take patience and consideration of other drivers as we all try to be the best example of Christian kindness that we can be.

Gratitude is a Virtue

We are grateful that the MWRA has provided us with the maps below to assist drivers in finding the best ways around the construction and that Milton Police Department will be providing more officers to assist us in and out of the school yard. Both the Police Department and the MWRA suggested that the fewer cars remaining in the parking lot the smoother the traffic in and out of the yard will flow.

Dismiss all anxiety from your mind

Although the previous reports assured us that construction would be complete before the opening of school, there were unexpected delays that prevented this. So, during the time of construction no child will be marked tardy from school. We fully expect that this challenge will not prevent us from enjoying our best year ever of learning and loving at St. Agatha School. Maureen C. Simmons
If travelling east on Adams St. you will be detoured on to Brook Rd prior to Squantum St. Follow Brook Rd to the end where it intersects with Adams St. There will be a sign board with a message: St Agatha's Only, No Thru Traffic. You will be allowed to make a left hand turn on to Adams St beyond this sign board and enter the main entrance for the school.

If approaching from Quincy or East Milton Square, do not take Squantum St to Adams St. Take Granite Ave south to the Wood St overpass. Bear right at the end on to Adams St, to the intersection of Brook Rd. There will be a sign board with a message: St Agatha's Only, No Thru Traffic. You will be allowed to continue on Adams St beyond this sign board and enter the main entrance for the school.

When exiting the school property, all traffic will proceed out the driveway on the west side of the Rectory. You will be allowed to go straight across Adams St on to Governors Road, which leads to Brook Road,
or you will be allowed to take a right on to Adams Street and travel as far as Squantum St and take a right turn.
(Adams Street will be closed westbound from Squantum St to Center St.)

We, the members of St. Agatha School, supported by our parish, form a Christian community with excellence in education as our goal. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel, build a faith community, celebrate through worship and serve others. We welcome and support a diverse cultural and economic population, which is a hallmark of our Catholic identity. We strive to generate a climate that is permeated by the Gospel spirit, one that encourages teachers, students, and families to become one community of learners, and prepares us for our contribution to society in the future.
