Bravo St. Agatha!
Watching the spectacular production of “Aladdin Jr.” reminded me of everything good about Milton.
These amazing young people displayed talent, energy and commitment. Their parents and teachers delivered awesome support for the play including a set worthy of Disneyworld - a 500 pound elephant, flying carpets and so much more.
Janine Winters, the director, has a sense of wonder about her. She created a musical worth watching over and over. It was her husband, Christopher, who engineered the set construction.
All we can say is: Masterful.
Unfortunately it was a one weekend show – standing room only. It seems a shame not to use the costumes and sets again. We wonder if they have thought about marching the elephant in the 350th parade?
There was such emotion and hard work, it seems to demand a reprise.
The genie – Alexandra Curley – was very blue and very convincing. Her voice rang true and her lines were delivered with great execution.
Joseph Odegaard as Aladdin delivered a true and fantasy-filled performance. Alexis McEachern, as the lovely Jasmine, was in fine voice.
Maggie Reardon was a wonderful narrator, and so were her cohorts, Molly Devin and Sara Hernando.
Jackie Tierney as Rajah was convincing.
A few of the others who should be applauded included: Casey Canale, Christina Pierotti, Hanna Hefler, Faith Fitzpatrick, Mattie Devin, Olivia Broderick, Ella Biemer, Caroline Butts, Caitlin Canavan, Madigan Kelly, Allyson Morgan, Maeve McDonald, John Lucas, Joseph Phan and Billy O’Brien.
There were more wonderful performers and many behind the scenes hands.Thank you, St. Agatha School.
