The Rite of Christian Initiation is a process of forming new members into our faith community. We provide support and education to those seeking Baptism (catechumen) and to Christians of other faith communities (candidate) who wish to become catholic. We are very fortunate to have two young women who participated in the Rite of Acceptance and Welcome on Nov 25, 2007, at the 10:30 Liturgy. Both have been inquirers about the Catholic faith and have declared their intention to continue their journey toward full initiation in the Catholic Church. The entire parish community offers them their support and witness to these women.
At the Rite this morning, we blessed them with a sign of the cross on their ears, that may hear the voice of the Lord, a sign on their lips that they may respond to the word of God, over their hearts that Christ may dwell they be faith, on their shoulders that they may bear the gentle yoke of Christ, on their hands that Christ may be known in the work which they do, on their feet that they may walk in the way of the Christ.
