Rite of Sending and the Rite of Election –
Call to Continue Conversion

Our Catechumens and Candidates travelled to the Cathedral for the Rite of Election celebrated by Cardinal O’Malley. During this rite, the Catechumens and then the Candidates were recognized by the Cardinal for their spiritual progress during the Catechumenate. The Catechumens nameswere then offered for enrollment in the Book of the Elect, symbolizing the names enrolled in the Book of Life in the Book of Revelation.
The Cardinal then accepted the Candidates request for Baptism at Easter and they then become known as the Elect. The Cardinal then welcomed the request of the Candidates to receive Confirmation and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil. We are so proud of our Elect and Candidates. Look for a booklet in the Church which contains pictures of our Catechumens and Candidates along with their personal story on why they are choosing to be Catholic at this time in their lives. Please continue to keep this group in your prayers as they continue on their journey towards full communion with the Catholic Church.
