Thank you! Thank you!

Once again, we managed to put together an evening of good food, drink and fun – and make a little money along the way! From those who solicited items, to the class baskets, families who donated items or placed ads, the hoards of helpers who showed up Saturday morning to set-up the tables and chairs, raffle ticket sellers, servers and bartenders, and the Sunday morning clean-up crew…we were blessed with a great team of parent volunteers who made this a great event!

The evening started with appetizers of cheese & crackers from Alba Restaurant (Quincy) and veggies & fruits from Pat’s Pizza (Lower Mills). Then we moved onto a tasty dinner of antipasto, chicken marsala, rice pilaf, ziti w/meatballs & sausage from Vin & Eddie’s (Abington)! To top off our meal, we had coffee from both Newcomb Farms (Milton) AND Flat Black (Dorchester) plus those marvelous cupcakes and pastries from Babycakes (Wollaston), Montilio’s (Quincy) and Roche Bros. (Quincy)! Throughout the evening we were treated to great music from Mike McDonough (a former school parent) of Music Express (Canton).

Our Silent Auction was a big success with over 160 items of such variety that it was amazing! Our 50/50 Raffle winner was Sarah McDonald (her parents own Vin & Eddie’s that donated our dinner – what a nice coincidence)! After that, it was onto the Live Auction where Jimmy Wells once again worked his magic on the crowd and got some heated bidding going on several items! At check-out, many people were pleasantly surprised when they were handed their winnings from the Fish Bowls!

Our last act of the night was pulling the winner of our Orlando Raffle. Surprisingly, of the 300+ people in the room, no one knew who Ron Koopman was! Monday I had the pleasure of calling his family with the good news. They were shocked and thrilled (they had to cancel a recent Orlando trip due to swine flu so this is perfect)! His ticket was sold by our very own parent volunteer Mrs. Raimondi on basketball trophy day!

I would also like to thank “my” Auction Committee – without the help and skills of this handful of women, this night would not be nearly as enjoyable!

After crunching all the numbers, we are pleased to announce that we were able to raise over $57,000 this year for the school and its students! Click here to see a list of all the donors.....
